Is your server unreliable or in need of an upgrade? Did you know you can accomplish many of the same features of a server without all the complexity?
Before you invest in an expensive server replacement or upgrade, consider other options. Cloud storage is a great first alternative to consider, but it may not always be the best fit. Some organizations have accumulated massive libraries of documents or store very large graphics, video, or CAD files that must be stored locally. In those cases, an on-site storage appliance can be a very good alternative to traditional servers. Some reasons to consider storage appliances:
Low power and space needs. Unlike a server, a storage appliance can sit in the corner and be managed via its web interface. No need for additional screens, keyboard, etc.
Inexpensive. Storage appliances are typically a fraction of the price of servers.
Built-in redundancy and uncomplicated backups. Backup to a local USB drive and to the cloud for disaster recovery.
Eliminate the expense and complication of Windows Server user licensing.
Less expensive and easier to maintain than a traditional sever. No special certifications required!
Ability to replicate simple server functions such as email routing of scanned documents.
iPhone and iPad apps to sync and access files remotely.

Martin helped me assess my organization’s current technology capabilities. He asked simple questions that allowed me to identify what our needs were, then provided information on options to take us where we wanted to be within our budget. What sets Martin apart is his ability to take the complex world of technology and break it down into concepts a consumer can understand. He takes the time to understand your company’s current technology, how you want to use technology in your business, and what kind of investment you are ready to make today.
